The NVQ Level 2 in Fire Stopping (Passive Fire Protection) qualification is for experienced passive firestoppers that have a good working knowledge of their trade.

To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate two of the following skills:

• Identify and safely use the access equipment such as podium, tower or scissor lift
• Install fire rated walls
• Install fire rated ceilings
• Install dry cladding
• Applying intrumescent coatings
• Install fire stopping
• Install cavity barriers
• Applying non-reactive spray coatings 
• Install fire resisting timber door sets

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

There is minimal downtime from your point of view – we do not stop you working or earning money and we don’t make you take any time off.

TIMESCALES TO COMPLETING NVQ
On average 4-6 weeks depending on your availability. If needed we can help you get qualified faster to get you back working on site at no extra cost.

You have to provide site evidence of you carrying out your job safely and you have to complete the knowledge requirements which will involve some informal questions – This is similar to talking about your work with one of your workmates.
