The NVQ Level 2 in Skimming qualification is for plasterers that have a good working knowledge of their trade.
To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
- Follow safe working practices
- Apply finish skimming plaster to walls and/or ceilings
- Board to timber and / or Dot and Dab
The next steps for you could be to move on to a Plastering NVQ Level 3. This will get you an Advanced Craft GOLD CSCS Card.
If this doesn’t sound like the right course for you – you may want to look at the Plastering – Full Route NVQ Level 2. This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

You have to provide site evidence of you carrying out your job safely and you have to complete the knowledge requirements which will involve some informal questions – This is similar to talking about your work with one of your workmates.
